where do fuses locate?

The NVIDIA JETSON TX2 SERIES FUSE SPECIFICATION mentions that,

"Fuses are divided into 2 distinct areas:
Manufacturing Fuses (for example, security keys, boot options, etc.)
ODM Field Fuses (for example, defined by ODM software for rollback protection,IDs, etc.)

Jetson TX2 Series modules contain all the power and logic to program the onboard fuses. The system designer does not have to make any provision on their own system design."

Some fuses just have one bit size. that makes me uncertain about the concept of fuses. Do them just mean a secure bit addressable zone? But where do them really locate internal ROM or somewhere else?

Thanks

hello garretzou,

it’s a chain of trust starts from BootRom.
Bootrom is Jetson’s root of trust and the fuses are designed to be inaccessible for production. Under Trust Zone environment, application will use crypto API to grant access to secret and the key is not readable by any software.

please expand [Developer Tools] session and check the [Jetson Security and Secure Boot] training video for more details.

please also check similar discussion thread about Jetson security, Topic 1062211, and Topic 1038950.

BTW,
you could also execute below tegrafuse script files to display all the fuses you had programmed,
for example,

$ sudo ./tegrafuse.sh
