Why doesn't Omniverse support OpenXR?

Open XR is the new VR standard (that’s at least 3 years old by now, depending on how you count).

SteamVR is a gaming platform made by a gaming company.

Omniverse is not a gaming platform and made for enterprise workspaces.

Why doesn’t Omniverse support OpenXR?

I guess a large market for Nvidia is gaming, so for them it doesn’t feel weird to have to install gaming software on company PCs, but for many other industries it’s quite out of place.

Thank you, @EDRobert ! We are aware of the OpenXR standard and seriously studying it…stay tuned for future updates. :)
