Wol on AGX orin

Hi,

I’m testing wol on AGX Orin devkit with image flashed by SDKm

I’ve short the pin 9 and 10 of automation header

And try to enable the wol (sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g)

Then the status show (sudo ethtool eth0)

Wake-on : g
Link dectected : no

The wol function is ok ,but I found the ethernet can’t connect anymore except I disable wol

Is there any step I was wrong?

Not sure about the question. Are you talking about your ethernet will be disabled if you enable WoL?

I mean, you didn’t ever test WoL function? Only enabled it and issue happened?

I’ve test the wol and the devkit can be woke up

But after I connect to ethernet, the eth0 showed disconnect

We can’t reproduce issue with r35.3.1 on AGX-Orin without short the pin 9 and 10.
Our test steps:
[AGX-Orin]
$ sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g
$ sudo ethtool eth0
→ check Wake-on: g
$ sudo systemctl suspend

[Host PC]
$ wakeonlan -i [Orin-IP-Address] [Orin-HW-Address]

So, there’s no need to short the pin 9 and 10 to test wol?

And without short the pins, after open the wol function, the ethernet can still work normally by your test?

On the other hand, can I interpret your reply for “We can reproduce issue with r35.3.1 on AGX-Orin with shorting the pin 9 and 10.”?

Or you think there’s no need to short the pin 9 and 10 to test wol, so test without shorting.

I short the pins to test because our EE taught me to do that, I’m not sure it is correct or not.

No need to short this part. At least we didn’t do that on devkit…

No, it is just we didn’t short these pins.

Hi,

I have to double check whether you understand my question

My point is not the wol function.

My point is I can’t connect to network after enable wol(sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g)

So, after you enable wol, your devkit can still connect to network?

As soon as I enable the wol, I can’t connect to network (ping showed Network is unreachable)

And I saw the log print “Failed to get PCS block lock” in /var/log/syslog

Is that normal?
