Attempting to upgrade devdriver from 256.xx to 260.24 in initlevel 3 after an upgrade to fedora 13 before also upgrading to toolkit 3.2. During install process of .run file, error message raises indicating ‘X server seems to be running’ and installer shuts down. I’ve read some OpenGL processes might still be running even with x-server off in level #3 but can’t find how to shut them. Would appreciate any advice, tips, tricks. TIA, V.
Solved to some degree with this other forum post–>Ubuntu Forums which documents killing background xorg server using ‘rm -f /tmp/.X0-lock’
In my case had to kill ‘/tmp/.X1-lock’
Now onto startx crash due to NV-GLX issue it would appear.
