X-Terminal reacts very slow

With JP6.0, writing to the Terminal (default X-Terminal from the Ubuntu Desktop) is very slow. It takes time for the letters to appear on the screen. This does not happen with JP5.1.2/3.

We had this with Jetson Nano (without orin) and firmware image from “Seeed”.
The effect was gone by using Nvidia image. It seemed to be related to the graphics driver but this is not shure.
Now, it is back with Orin and JP6.0 …

It does not happen within the framebuffer console!

P.S.: I have changed the bootloader back to JP5 version.
Checking of any idea for the reason may take some time, because of this.

Thanks

Are you saying that the typing of the terminal on the screen is slow?

Yes, thats it compressed within one sentens.

After pressing the keys at the keyboard, it takes some time until the letters are written.
This can be very confusion during work.

There is no update from you for a period, assuming this is not an issue any more.
Hence we are closing this topic. If need further support, please open a new one.
Thanks

Hi,

One quick test. If you switch the resolution to lower one, will this situation improve?

Just a test. I didn’t mean this is a solution.

Hi,

It looks like an issue from upstream ubuntu. Please run this command to bypass this issue.

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends mutter-common libmutter-10-0 gir1.2-mutter-10
