Xavier image-based update from 32.3 to 32.7.2 successfull, then to 35.1 that desktop can be entered with hdmi but serial blocked

Hi,
I try the xaiver image-based ota update from 32.3 to 32.7.2, then to 35.1. The process all are successfully. But in the process from 32.7.2 to 35.1, the updated 35.1 desktop can be entered with hdmi, but the serial output is blocked. The following is the serial output. If I burn the xavier of version 32.7.2 with flash.sh and update to 35.1 with image-based ota, the serial is not blocked and I can login on in the serail.The attachment is the log.

interesting, could you please check APPEND, do you have console=ttyTCU0,115200 included in your bootargs?
you may also remove quiet from the bootargs in order to gather more logs.

How can I add the console=ttyTCU0,115200 in the ota_payload_package.tar.gz?

Hi tianyi2, Switch to chain A command: $ sudo nvbootctrl set-active-boot-slot 0 $ sudo reboot —> after boot up, make sure device is booting from chain A. $ sudo nvbootctrl dump-slots-info Current bootloader slot: A Active bootloader slot: A → Success! Then you can start OTA from r32.7.2 to r35.1.

We tried it before and uart works. please make sure your BSP is clean.

I have followed the topic workaround to update from 32.7.2 to 35.1.
And I have tested 32.6.1 to 32.7.2 and then to 35.1, and the result is that the serial works rightly.
This topic which has error is updating xavier from 32.3 to 32.7.2 and then to 35.1.

Please add console=ttyTCU0,115200 in APPEND with r32.3.
File path: Linux_for_Tegra/rootfs/boot/extlinux/extlinux.conf
Then start image-based OTA update.

Do you mean adding console=ttyTCU0,115200 in 32.3, or the ota package from 32.3 to 32.7.2, or the bootloader ota package from 32.3 to 32.7.2, or the ota package from 32.7.2 to 35.1?

Please add console=ttyTCU0,115200 in r32.3, then start image-based OTA update process.

1. Add console=ttyTCU0,115200 in extlinux.conf
2. Start OTA from r32.3 to r32.7.2
3. Make sure device boot to Chain A
   → Follow Xavier image-based update from 32.6.1 to 32.7.2 successfully,then to 35.1failed - #22 by carolyuu steps.
4. Start OTA from r32.7.2 to r35.1
