Xavier NX sometimes boot into recovery mode when nv-l4t-usb-device-mode.service is disabled

Hi All,
I’m doing reboot stress test with L4T r35.1. I have applied the patch.
But if I disable nv-l4t-usb-device-mode.service, the system sometimes will boot into recovery mode.

Please help fix this issue , thanks.

Hi,

Just want to clarify situation here. Is the last boot before entering recovery mode ever entering the desktop or not? I saw the login prompt is showing up and no kernel panic happened.

Hi WanyneWWW,
Yes, it always enters ubuntu desktop. I use the restart button on ubuntu poweroff menu for doing reboot stress test.

So it enters desktop. You clicked the reboot button and it somehow entering the recovery boot by itself?

Hi WayneWWW,
Yes!

Hi,

There ia actually one another potential cause of kernel panice that is related to etherent.

When you did your test, do you have ethernet connected?

Hi WayneWWW,
Yes, I have. Is there any patch can fix the ethernet issue!?

please remove the interrupt and interrupt parents in the etheret phy device tree and this would prevent some intermittent panic.

Hi WayneWWW,
Ok, I will do this and test again. Thanks.

Hi Frank,

Please also try to remove following lines in nv_update_verifier.service. This may prevent your error.

After=nvgetty.service

Hi WayneWWW,
After remove this line, the issue has been fixed.
Thanks for your help.
