Hello
I have problems with the installation of the Linux NVIDIA driver.
Situation: We are using RHEL 8.8 and a NVIDIA NVS 510 card.
Driver: NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-470.256.02
Problem description:
We have been using NVIDIA cards with our HP workstation and RHEL releases for many years now.
The installation itself goes well so far and we even got Wayland to work.
But every time we open a Gnome terminal we get the error “xhost: unable to open display :0”.
Now I am looking for support to fix this problem.
Attachements:
As I read, a “nvidia-bug-report.log.gz” is needed for support. further anorther “nvidia-bug-report.log.gz” created with “startx - -logverbose 6”. While doing the second step I was no longer able to reproduce my problem.
So there must be a difference between the behaviour with “systemctl set-default graphical.target” and “systemctl set-default multiuser.target with startx”.
Unfortunaley I can not find the “Upload” button so there is no “nvidia-bug-report.log.gz” yet.
Can you give me some advice on how to fix this problem?
Regards,
Peter
