No regressions or new issues found after putting the 580.159.03 LTSB driver though its paces with various tests and benchmarks.

That’s now 8 consecutive driver releases with zero issues on my trusty old 1050 Ti GPU.

Current stack:

  • kernel 6.19.14
  • hyprland git @450d8a0 (-DNO_XWAYLAND:STRING=true)
  • sway 0.12-rc3 (Native Wayland)
  • wlroots 0.20.0 (+ 0.20.1 backports) (Vulkan Backend) (-Dxwayland=disabled)
  • egl-wayland2 git @6d3d23

Of note:

  1. My compositors are built without Xwayland support.
  2. I package the nVidia driver without the various unneeded X11-related bits or deps installed.
  3. The egl-wayland2 package is relied on solely. I do not install the legacy egl-wayland library.
  4. The Vulkan API version is still 1.4.312. Early on I think folks were hoping that the 580 series would receive updates from the Vulkan branch. I’m not counting on it.

Thanks Nvidia for continuing to provide a rock-solid stable long-term driver for those of us with older hardware.
