I see two different issues. The first is that for some reason, using “env” before configure isn’t correctly setting the “CC”, “CFLAGS”, “FC”, etc environment variables. Try setting each individually in your shell (i.e. in csh “setenv CC pgcc”, or in bash “export CC=pgcc”) and then run configure and make.

The second error, the undefined references to “__c_mcopy1”, is most likely caused by mixing pgcc and gcc compiled objects. If this was your intent, then you’ll need to add the PGI C runtime library (-L/usr/pgi/linux86-64/7.1-6/lib -lpgc) to your link. Otherwise you need to build and link with either gcc or pgcc, not both. I’m guessing that fixing your configure will also fix this problem.

Hi Choingjoo,

PGI compilers will often use highly optimized versions of common routines such as “memcopy”. These routines are located in the PGI C runtime library so you must link with libpgc in order for the linker to resolve these symbols. If you link with pgcc, then “-lpgc” is added by default. However, if you link with gcc (or ld), you need add “-L -lpgc” to the link line.

In this case, it appears to me that some of the objects were compiled with pgcc (perhaps left over from a previous build?) but you are linking with gcc. To fix, you need to either use pgcc to link or add “-L -lpgc” to the link line.
