Jetson TX1 flash freezing at "Writing partition APP with system.img"

Hello everyone,

I am trying to flash my Jetson TX1 after it didn’t boot properly when I bought it. It freezes at “Writing partition APP with system.img” each time I try to flash. I have tried this 3 times at it has frozen at 6%, 4%, 0%. I have waited for more tha one hour.

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 (VirtualBox VM) as the host computer, with USB 3.0 host controller on Windows 7 professional 64-bit. I have downloaded and installed Jetpack 2.1

If you have any ideas on what I can do to fix this, I will be grateful.

Hello, please run the latest JetPack 2.3 from a native Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64 host (not from VM).

hello,
i just flashed a few days ago. having done the procedure several times in the past, i’m guilty of not reading information that may have changed and went ahead and flashed from a 14.04 x86_64. it seems to be running properly, is it absolutely necessary that host be 16.04?

That was a typo, 14.04 is the officially supported version for host. Although 16.04 can work on host too (if you encounter a problem with installing host-side openCV in JetPack, choose to skip it).
