Linux kernel update: does the CUDA toolkit need to be reinstalled?

Hi all,
assume a Linux kernel update has been done (RHEL9.2). Does the CUDA toolkit located under /usr/local/bin needs to be reinstalled (installation would be done from the runfile with the “–toolkit” option).

Does anyone has an idea?

Thanks & best regards!

The CUDA toolkit does not need to be installed, but typically the GPU driver needs to be reinstalled. The exception to the need to have the driver reinstalled would be if you have DKMS properly set up.
