memory bandwidth of M2090 less than GTX 580?

Hi, all!

We have purchased GPU servers with Tesla M2090, but the memory bandwidth of M2090 is 177 GB/s, which is even less than GeForce GTX 580 (192.4 GB/s). Why is that? This seems strange.

The professional versions are not “overclocked” like the gaming versions for stability and TDP limitations. Makes sense right? Your M2090 also has ECC which will further effect bandwidth…

If you run very long experiments on your GTX580 you’ll eventually see data corruption where the only solution in some cases is a hard reset…
