nvprof doesn't always profile kernel

I’ve noticed that when I run nvprof on the samples provided with CUDA 6.0, it sometimes produces the message: “No kernels were profiled.” All of the smaple programs run successfully.

These programs do produce kernel profiles: histogram, concurrentKernels, fluidsD3D9, dct8x8, clock

These programs do not produce kernel profiles: cudaDecodeGL, imageDenoising, HSOpticalFLow, fluidsGL, nbody

Is there a reason that the second set don’t work in kernel profiling? Do they not have kernels? Can anyone duplicate this?

I’m running 64-bit Windows 7 with a Quadro k4000 and driver version 332.88.
