Anyone tried already? I’m very skeptical when I hear about Perplexity because of their policy towards long -term subscribers. But maybe it’s worth something after all? As they advert this, it is specifically prepared for DGX.
Well… I’ll give it a go. They gave me a “free” year of pro. I never use it, but it qualifies me for this. So I’ll try it.
I’m not very familiar with Perplexity and probably used it once a year ago or something. When you say “policy toward long-term subscribers” do you mean rate-limit / usage caps, or something else ?
We are using perplexity more and more at work for knowledge use… plan on tying it out to the DGX GB10 tonight. Wish there was more info since I have a 2 node cluster. Seems like the use case is all planned around 1 and the models themselves are all small, which is odd. spent all day today with it, just got the spark delivered this morning. It doesnt work yet. Im a big perplexity max user, I spend 1300 month right now on credits plus perplexity monthly. anyway, I wanted to slow the burn so this setup sounded perfect. I cant get perplexity anything to recognize the spark as a “source”. Trying to get more instructions from perplexity. Easy to install the packages on the spark, not so easy to get the spark wired to the perplexity harness so I can use all my thousands of hours of context, picking up threads where I left off, etc. Hope it works out but right now I think you have to be on a monitor and keyboard connected to the spark and run locally with new threads/context. It doesnt appear perplexity cloud can push to the spark nor vice versa. That kind of defeats the entire concept. That would just be running a local LLM on the spark without involving perplexity at all.

i’ve a perplexity pro subscription and a dgx spark, from the official guide page it only give a installation procedure of the perplexity on the device. It is now still unclear how to link/setup my perplexity account to access the dgx spark ? Or does it mean i need to attach a monitor/keyboard to the dgx spark to work locally ? if so it is useless to me .
Dumb question, but what does this actually do? Is it their own harness or something?
This is how I understand that. They give you some harness, plug 35b moe model, let you use your silicon to compute simple tasks and route to their online hosted services and charge you for that if harder task.
Maybe it’s worth anything (easy setup, nice interface or STH like that), but I am very cautious about pplexity as from the days when they 1) silently nerfed (500 daily Vs 20 monthly deep research, later nerfed also quality drastically) pro subscriptions without giving right to claim money back to annual subscriptions holders 2) placed extremely unclear provisions in their tos about claiming rights to materials inputted and outputted. It seems to me rather like they want to cherry pick on their big user pool
I guess this is pretty cool, but I don’t have perplexity pro. Is there anything generic and open source like this?
