I’m writing to request an increase of my API rate limit from the current 40 requests per minute to 200 requests per minute for my personal and student account.
While building a small learning project, I consistently hit HTTP 429 “Too Many Requests” errors because the 40 RPM cap is reached almost instantly when I iterate on prompts, test different parameters, or run side-by-side comparisons for a course assignment. Each 429 response forces me to artificially slow my experimentation, turning a straightforward debugging session into a frustrating wait cycle. The core issue is simply that 40 RPM cannot keep up with the rapid back-and-forth needed for effective hands-on learning.
My usage is entirely non-commercial, low in total volume, and strictly for personal education. A raise to 200 RPM would remove the bottleneck without any meaningful impact on your infrastructure, while allowing me—and other student developers—to fully explore your models. I’d be grateful if you could apply this adjustment or advise on any verification steps required.
