WHat would have been nice if the results/speeds achieved on these calculations had also been reported on in the whitepapers

That exercise is left to the reader :)

If you want to know the speed-up, you will need to build and run the examples!!!

NB: some of the CPU implementations are there to prove that the results are correct.
