If we could rent out our idle sparks that would be great otherwise this is just a ad.
You can rent it out, but nothing comes for free, vast.ai is a process. claude and co solves most of the hurdles.
And building up a inventory takes time.
So not an ad, assume more machines will pop up over time. Less machines, potensiale higher price per hour. Time will tell.
renting it out at .35 at 30% what vast takes .. will take 7 years to recoop the cost of the unit - and thats assuming full utilisation .. which i assume with gb10’s is sub 10% as there is generally a small market for those slow devices - agentic stuff wants fast compute - so h100/h200/b200/b300 - if your agent f’ks up which it will eventually you want it to be fast anyway ..
specially if you can rent a 6000 pro for sub 1usd / hour

Yeah and when you have RTX6000 for 0.7 per hour or majestic GH200 96GB that has 10x speed of Spark at 2$ per hour - who in sane mind will rent spark.
local and renting serves different markets - the gb10 was never a inference mashine - it was/is a POC mashine for dgx aka b200/b300 to play with connect x7 → if you have to rent a 8 node cluster just to test if your code is working .. and that takes you a week you burn the same amount of cash the 8x gb10 cost you (formal validation of distributed code doesnt need speed) - different story for inference - there is just no way anyone wants to rent that for prod / agentic inference where speed = result
the community just made good work of it so it gets an actuall second life / every day use - you would not rent such a mashine
