[560.35.03] Crash on Optimus Laptop when external Monitor uses more than 60 Hz

I’m currently running Nobara 40 ( basically Fedora 40 ) on kernel 6.11.0
I’m running a laptop on an i9-13900HX with a GeForce RTX 4080 Max-Q / Mobile and run exclusively on one displayport screen that is wired to the dGPU.

While everything worked fine up until driver 555.58.02 my system completely broke down since 560.
When I start any gpu application like a game using proton, the game would either freeze or completely crash after a few seconds.
Afterwards I cant open any hardware accelerated application anymore.
They always segfault like

I tested both kernel drivers both with GpuFirmware enabled and disabled.
All configurations produce the same results.

I discovered that this doesnt happen when I restrict my monitor to a 60 Hz refresh rate.

Issue sadly still occurs on 565.57.01.
Even tried the current 6.12 RC kernel.

It would seem from the segfault that driver is not directly the cause because it is the kitty program that crashes.
I am on rawhide, I looked at what kitty is for:
Offloads rendering to the GPU for lower system load and buttery smooth
scrolling. Uses threaded rendering to minimize input latency.

Try to uninstall kitty and look what’s happening.

Kitty is just the program I started after it already crashed.
The error appears for every Program I try to start.

at that moment the gpu is in a “requires reset” state and wont open any application ( like kitty ) at all anymore

But it happens on both open and closed modules so it’s much more likely that this issue is tied to another part of the system

I sent you this link because from what I read your problems started from 560 and I believe 560 is the first driver based on the opensource code.

Thanks a lot for that, Im sorry if I offended you.
That being said 560 is just the driver where the open kernel modules might be the default.
You can still switch between the open and the closed modules which I already did to narrow down the issue or at least find a workaround.

The issue still persist on both modules tho.
Additionally disabling the GspFirmware only gets rid of those rpcRmApiAlloc_GSP errors.
I dont know whats happening here As I only get presented the Xid 62 which apparently is an “internal microcontroller halt” which is followed by Xid 154 which I cant even find in the documentation
