565 release feedback & discussion

On wayland with a GTX 1650 Super 4GB, after 20~30 minutes of playing GTFO, the FPS drops significantly from 60 to 10 and stays there, requiring a restart. The problem is that my vram is completely filled as per nvidia-smi, trying to run another another gpu-accelerated program results on a “failed to allocate vram”. I’m getting this error on dmesg

[drm:nv_drm_gem_alloc_nvkms_memory_ioctl [nvidia_drm]] *ERROR* [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x00000100] Failed to allocate NVKMS memory for GEM object

Same can happen on Nioh 2 if I have something else (a browser) consuming a bit of vram while loading a stage. Most likely the game fills up the vram while loading, FPS keeps dropping and eventually hangs. I must play every game with textures set to minimum in order to minimize VRAM usage.

Didn’t happen on x11, likely tied to Non-existent shared VRAM on NVIDIA Linux drivers
