+ this bug seems to be back. "ERROR: GPU:0: Idling display engine timed out:" since 524.X and linux 6.1.5
I’m bombarded with nvidia-modeset: ERROR: GPU:0: Idling display engine timed out: 0x0000c67e:6:0:1258
and
NVRM: kdispApplyWarForBug3385499_v03_00: timeout waiting for METHOD_EXEC to IDLE
NVRM: kdispApplyWarForBug3385499_v03_00: timeout waiting for channel state to UNCONNECTED
However the external screen freezes for a sec, then recovers, then refreezes etc. External monitor is a 4K/144Hz TV, used at 119.88Hz / 3840x2160.
To reproduce the issue, I just have to run gamescope --backend wayland -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 60 -f -- vkcube, exit fullscreen mode, then use another program.
Even worse, gamescope --backend sdl -W 1920 -H 1080 -r 60 -f -- vkcube, leaving fullscreen, then launching another instance of vkcube, then clicking on it so it’s currently higlighted, will cause +10s long freezes.
