I went over to [url=“http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_opencl.html”]http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_opencl.html[/url] with the intention of signing up for beta and found this bit of news with today’s date:

9/28/09 Update: NVIDIA has released the industry’s first publicly available OpenCL GPU drivers for Windows and Linux, as well as an OpenCL Visual Profiler and SDK code samples. Now available on the OpenCL downloads page.

Is this an official release? Are we out of beta?

edit: this is not really true!

Official word is that this is a non-beta 1.0 release.

Well the performance of the SDK examples still seems lower than CUDA’s (ex. Black Sholes 5 GOPS vs 0.09 GOPS).
