I know this is a beginner-ish question, but I was just wondering what is the most effective way to benchmark my GPU in terms of a general GFLOP rate. Is this entirely algorithm dependent and therefor makes no sense to get an overall benchmark? There are theoretical numbers out there of how many flops are possible, but I was wondering if there was a general way to benchmark in terms of actual, logical GFLOPS that could be expected for a card.
Also, what is the method used to calculate FLOPS? I knkow that it has to do with the core speed, num of processors, and the like, but don’t know the exact calculation.
Thanks for your help.
