ConnectX-7 with 10GBASE-T SFP+

Hello,

I would like to confirm whether 10GbE operation is possible with the MCX713104AS-ADAT when using a 10GBASE-T SFP+ copper transceiver.

According to the ConnectX-7 specifications page for MCX713104AC-ADAT / MCX713104AS-ADAT, the Data Rate section shows Ethernet: 50/25GbE. However, in the same section, the “Ethernet Protocols supported by the electrical interface” list includes 10GBASE-R and SFI.

Because of this, I would like to confirm the following:

  1. Can the MCX713104AS-ADAT establish a 10GbE link when a Methode DM7053 (10GBASE-T SFP+ RJ45 transceiver) is inserted into one of its SFP56 ports?

  2. If yes, is this configuration officially supported or validated by NVIDIA?

  3. Are there any known limitations, required firmware versions, auto-negotiation settings, or compatibility concerns for this use case?

At this stage, I am not asking about a specific end device yet. I first want to confirm whether the basic combination below is supported:

  • NIC: MCX713104AS-ADAT

  • Transceiver: Methode DM7053

  • Link type: 10GBASE-T over RJ45 copper

  • Target link speed: 10GbE

If possible, please also let me know whether there is any recommended NVIDIA-qualified 10GBASE-T SFP+ module for this card.

Thank you.

Hi,

The Methode DM7053 10GBASE-T module is listed under supported third-party cables and modules for ConnectX-7 in the firmware release notes.

Thanks,

Chen

Hi, Chen

Let me clarify,
In this specification
docs.nvidia.com/networking/display/connectx7vpi/specifications
MCX713104AS-ADAT only support 50/25Gbps but not 10Gbps.
Do you think if we can still use DM7053 10GBase-T?
I appriciate your double check
Thanks,

Masahito
