CUDA 9 on Windows 8.0

Hi,

I have installed CUDA 9.0 on Windows 8 (64 bit) machine. I have Visual Studio 2012. Now, i tried to run a simple CUDA code as below:

Problem faced:

The proper way to verify a new CUDA install is to follow the instructions in the install guide. Did you compile and run any sample projects?

Regarding your MSB 3721 error, it’s impossible to determine the issue - you should turn up the verbosity on your VS output, so that the error from nvcc itself is displayed. After you turn up the verbosity (google for that, please), the nvcc error should be displayed right before the MSB 3721 error. Then it will be evident what the issue is.

Something about your install or setup is broken. nvcc is not able to locate or use the host compiler (VS 2012) correctly.

Were you able to build CUDA sample projects correctly?

I installed the drivers first, Visual studio second and then the CUDA toolkit 9.0. the setup finished successfully. Could you please suggest, how do I fix this problem?

It may be that you have an incorrect version of VS2012 installed. I am not able to determine the issue from this output.

I have Windows 8 (64 bit) OS. There are two NVIDIA cards - Telsa K20 C and Quadro K2000 (Fujitsu Workstation).
I am trying to install CUDA 9.0 on this configuration. I have also installed Visual Studio 2012 and test it by building a VC++ project which works fine.

The issue faced is either the drivers are not installed properly or I am missing some settings in Visual Studio towards integrating CUDA tools.

How can check if the driver is installed properly?
How can I get proper settings in Visual studio? I followed the steps mentioned in installation guide for windows.

Please see the snapshot of the summary message got after installing CUDA 9.0 toolkit. The message does not mention about installation status of CUDA.
