CUDA and SLI Are they related?

I have three questions:

  1. Does SLI help CUDA GPU computing? My impression is that SLI is only for graphics.

  2. Can SLI somehow use programs compiled for a single GPU to be automatically scaled to and run on multiple GPUs?

  3. Is having an SLI-enabled motherboard a requirement for using multiple GPUs with CUDA?
