CUDA Driver Version / Runtime Version problem?

The same src code,the same project CMakelists on the same machine ,but time cost of one of cuda kernel module is different.The cuda and driver details are as shown below.What’s may cause this problem ?how to achieve the same efficiency under this circumstance?

CUDA Driver Version / Runtime Version: 9.2 / 9.2 vs 8.0 / 8.0

Kernel_Computing_Time_Cost(ms): 7.65 vs 11.98

Under Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS with i7 and GTX1050

Might be worth reading the release notes of each stack for possible improvements.

So your code runs faster with the newer CUDA version? Sounds very reasonable to me - just say thank you to Nvidia and use the newer version.
Or is the other way around and you may have found a regression?
