Display doesn't come back after updating driver on Ubuntu 22.04

Hi, the last two times I’ve updated the 535.x driver on Ubuntu 22.04, the display has gone away and not come back (monitor reports no input). I am using the official Ubuntu 3rd party driver and my install should be fairly stock as far as Ubuntu goes. The only interesting thing might be that I was running Nouveau for a while after the 525 series went away.

Everything seems fine after a reboot but blanking out is alarming behavior and really shouldn’t happen.

Here’s a snippet of the system log from when I think the update started, then the screen went blank. I waited for a while then rebooted.
