Does NvJpeg uses NVENC or CUDA cores

Hello,

I would like to know if the image compression functionality in NvJpeg uses CUDA cores to do the encoding or it uses NVENC? If we are using rtx 2080 ti, is it better to use NVENC for frame encoding that NvJpeg? Thanks.

Using NvJpeg with Quadro RTX 6000, which has NVENC supported, if I run a nvjpeg encoding job in a loop, there is about 80% volatile GPU-util according to nvidia-smi. Does that mean the nvjpeg I’m using does not use NVENC but use CUDA core instead? Or NVENC takes some GPU-util when it is running?

No only A100 uses separate cores.
