Does Orin NX HDMI Audio support hot-plug?

Hi Nvidia,

I have 2 HDMI monitor. One have audio and the other one doesn’t.
These are my steps:

  1. I connect the monitor that doesn’t have audio. The sound of settings doesn’t have hdmi audio item.
  2. Un-plug the monitor.
  3. Connecting the monitor that have audio. The sound of settings doesn’t have hdmi audio item too.
  4. Reboot ubuntu syustem. The sound of settings have hdmi audio item.

Does Orin NX HDMI Audio support hot-plug?

Module: Orin NX 16GB
Carrier Board: Custom carrier board modify by p3509-a02.dts

What would be the test result of

  1. Reboot the device with “no HDMI connected”.

  2. Hotplug the HDMI with audio supported after system boots.

Will you see HDMI audio option?

Yes, I can see the HDMI audio option when hotplug the HDMI with audio supported after system boots.

Monitor A: does not have audio support
Monitor B: have audio support

Ok, so the issue here is if you hotplug A first and then B, the HDMI audio option will not appear. But if you directly hotplug B in the beginning, then it will work?

We will try to reproduce this issue locally.

This issue would be resolved in next rel-36 release.
