Hello Devtalk,
Around 10th Feb 2020 I installed nvidia driver cuda_10.2.89_440.33.01_linux.run for Quadro P600 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. It worked and I could run some GPU-accelerated molecular simulation with GROMACS and some 3D browser games. However, lately (I’m not sure of the exact time), I can’t run any simulation or 3D applications.
I invoked nvidia-settings on my terminal. It shows:
ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded
ERROR: Unable to load info from any available system
Also, NVIDIA SMI does not work:
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.
I used to be able to bypass this problem by turning off Secure Boot. Currently, my Secure Boot is off, yet nvidia driver can’t load.
Any help is appreciated!
