I am trying to install CUDA on Ubuntu 20.04. It does install, however I can’t get the Nvidia drivers to run. When I try:
nvidia-smi
I get the error: “NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn’t communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.”
Similarly nvidia-settings returns “ERROR: NVIDIA driver is not loaded”. Also the folder “/proc/driver/nvidia/version” can not be found.
I saw that several people mention disabling secure boot as the solution, but when I disable secure boot in the BIOS and I try to boot into Ubuntu, I just get a black screen and nothing happens.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
