I have a 980ti NVIDIA GPU that I wanted to run Isaac Sim on, but I couldn’t because the card didn’t have ray tracing. I had to start an Amazon Instance to run the Sim, but I was still wondering why I couldn’t run the program on my local computer because the environment’s lighting didn’t seem very complex, something that should be similar in horsepower to Unity. Does anyone know why ray tracing is a requirement in Isaac, and if there is any way to use a weaker powered GPU?
Hi. The RT Core is a required component for our rendering engine, Kit SDK. The experts in the Ominverse forums could have a more detailed explanation and sugesstions.
