Hello,
I would like to report a consistent and reproducible issue with GPU scaling behavior in NVIDIA Control Panel when using a mixed multi-monitor setup.
System
-
OS: Windows 11 (up to date)
-
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX (Founders Edition)
-
Driver: Latest available
-
Primary display: MSI 271QR QD-OLED X50 (2560×1440, 500 Hz, DisplayPort)
-
Secondary display: LG UltraGear (1920×1080, 240 Hz, DisplayPort)
Issue When both monitors are enabled:
-
The option “Perform scaling on: GPU” is NOT available for the QD-OLED display.
-
The QD-OLED is forced to Display scaling.
-
The GPU scaling option is only available for the 1080p monitor.
When the 1080p monitor is disabled:
-
The GPU scaling option immediately becomes available again for the QD-OLED.
-
Behavior is fully normal.
This issue is 100% reproducible and does not depend on Windows display order (Display 1 / 2).
Impact In modern setups with a high-end gaming display and a secondary lower-resolution monitor, it becomes impossible to use GPU scaling on the primary display while the secondary monitor is active.
Request Please consider:
-
Allowing GPU scaling to be configured per display, or
-
Providing an advanced option to force GPU scaling on the primary display, or
-
Officially documenting this limitation.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards,
Daniel.
