How to configure rate limit per VF for Connect-X5 device under infiniband mode?

I’m trying to set a rate limit per VF under infiniband mode. I’ve successfully done it under ethernet mode following this post, but it didn’t mention whether it’s possible to configure a rate limit under infiniband mode.

Running “mlnx_qos -i <PF_IF_NAME>” results in the following message:

Priority trust state is not supported on your system
Buffers commands are not supported on your system
Rate limit is not supported on your system!
ETS features are not supported on your system

I wonder if setting a rate limit (as well as other QoS settings) under infiniband mode is possible for any version of the hardware/software. If so, how can I possibly configure it? Thanks for any kind of explanation.

Hello xljiang,

Thank you for posting your inquiry on the NVIDIA Developer Forum - Infrastructure and Networking - Section.

Infiniband QoS is setup in a different way then QoS on Ethernet fabric.

We recommend to review the following URL for a better understanding about Infiniband QoS → https://hpcadvisorycouncil.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/HPCWORKS/pages/1178075141/Understanding+Basic+InfiniBand+QoS

Incorrect configuring QoS on Infiniband fabric can lead to fabric instability and performance degradation, so we recommend you to contact your NVIDIA account team to better assist you in your ask and requirement on how-to implement QoS in your Infiniband fabric

Thank you and regards,
