Hello,
Until recently, I have been using ConnectX-4 and ConnectX-5 adapters, specifically the MCX555A and MCX456A models, installed in PCIe 5.0 x16 slots. However, I am now facing a situation where my PC no longer has any available PCIe slots, and I would like to explore alternative ways to connect these adapters.
I am currently using a Supermicro X13 DEI-T motherboard. In addition to the standard PCIe slots, this board provides several connectors labeled “NVMe ports PCIe 5.0 x4 via 3 MCIO Connector.” I am interested in whether these MCIO connectors can be used to connect an RDMA-capable network adapter, even if it is not one of the ConnectX models I have previously used.
More specifically, I would like to know:
-
Whether there are any RDMA network cards that can be connected via an NVMe PCIe 5.0 x4 via 3 MCIO Connector
-
Whether existing ConnectX adapters, or alternative RDMA-capable products, can be used through this interface
-
Whether it is feasible to use intermediate components such as MCIO-to-PCIe adapter cables or expansion brackets to make such a connection possible
If there are any compatible products or proven configurations, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
Thank you in advance for your help.
