I am a visual effects artist, I’m considering to buy a tesla c1060, but I don’t know it’s going to help my work or not, my work refering to dynamic simulation, particle simulation, and some other 3d stuff, composting sometimes, I don’t know how to CUDA. So, Is buying a tesla c1060 going to help my work?
at this point probably not, it will only accelerate programs that use cuda, there are very few of these out there right now. In your field its only some video encoders. If you can some how work the Physx then you will get acceleration as parts of Physx now use CUDA. But that is mainly for games so i don’t believe it will give you the results you are looking for (in terms of quality).
