I am a game developer and realtime graphics researcher that is using the Nvidia ICAT tool to create before after comparison videos of my latest research work.
The tool makes creating perfectly synchronized high quality video comparison presentations and QA checks of my work a breeze.
The ICAT tool has a video export feature that uses FFMPEG, but it is currently CPU only and does not use the GPU for video encoding. A short 5 minute clip takes several hours to produce.
I have a feature request to add GPU encoding to the video export tool in order to speed up the video export to more reasonable times.
I need to produce several side by side comparison tools as quickly and efficiently as possibly, which means using gpu encoding for FFMPEG. I am sure many other people would also greatly appreciate this feature.
I have looked around for alternative tools that would suffice as a replacement for Nvidia ICAT, but hands down it is the fastest thing available for quickly setting up video comparison with the most precise and easy to use video synchronization tools available. Often my two video clips will be of slightly different lengths, off by 2 or 3 seconds, and having the precise frame sync is critical for hiqh quality comparisons.
I hope that Nvidia will be able to accommodate this request.
Thank you very much for creating the ICAT tool.
