Nvidia Shadow Play

When utilizing Nvidia Shadow Play, SteelSeries Sonar (Audio Software), and Blue Yeti X Microphone I am unable to get my Shadow Play to set my recording microphone to my Yeti X.

I get the option but no matter what I do Shadow Play reverts to one of the SteelSeries Audio options. I ensured to have “Highlights”, “Instant Replay”, and “Recording” turned off/disabled in Shadow Play.

My Yeti X does work correctly in other softwares like OBS in regards to my audio.

I have ensured all drivers and softwares are up to date and ensured all my default PC audio settings are set to the correct ones with the input being set to my blue yeti X. This also includes all the default application audio settings being set correctly as well.

I utilize my Steel Series Sona software for both my Steel Series Arctis Pro Headphones and for audio channel management for streaming because it makes it very easy to set up multiple audio channels for streaming purposes.

This issue only started occurring within the past few weeks (current date 01/05/2025) and was never an issue for me before December 2024.

So I am making this post to ask for help, see if anyone else is seeing a similar issue, or as a bug report.

Hello,

Welcome to the Developer forums. Shadowplay is a consumer product and is supported in the GeForce forums. Please post your issue there.

Open your Windows Sound configuration, switch to the “Recording” tab, then make sure you have at least 4 enabled input devices on that tab.

You may have to right-click empty space and enable “Show Disabled Devices”. Right-click and enable any disabled/grayed out devices until there are at least 4 enabled input devices.

You’ll now be able to select any device in Nvidia Overlay/ShadowPlay.

Sounds insane, I know, and that’s because it is.

yea thats messed up lol, thanks
