NVIDIA-SMI just shows one GPU instead of two

Hi,
I have a Linux system (16.04) with two GPUs RTX 2080Ti, the installed driver version is 415.25, and CUDA is 10.0.
But I run the nvidia-smi, it shows only one GPU.
lspci | grep -i vga works fine
I will attach the nvidia-bug-report.log.gz file. I really need a little help

nvidia-bug-report.log.gz (989 KB)

The gpu fails to initialize

[72519.504547] NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed! (0x26:0xffff:1098)
[72519.504635] NVRM: rm_init_adapter failed for device bearing minor number 1

Try reseating the card, check power connectors, check card in another system for a general hw fault.

Thanks for your reply. After reseating the card and reboot the system, the two GPU will be displayed for a while, but after several hours, one will disappear.

Then you should check it in another system or swap slots to see whether the gpu or the slot is faulty.

If it only happens after several hour, you should also check temperatures to rule out overheating.
