Nvinfer input-tensor-meta without nvdspreprocess

Is it possible to attach custom input tensor metadata (input-tensor-from-meta=1) to the input batch of a nvinfer element without using the nvdspreprocess by attaching the metadata manually from a probe callback?

why not use nvdspreprocess ? nvifner and nvdspreprocess are opensource, you can port nvdspreprocess 's function.
