Hello. I noticed that in recent nvidia drivers for linux, the NVreg_EnableBacklightHandler driver param has been removed. I used it to disable the ‘nvidia_0’ backlight device because my system would use it instead of the ‘intel_backlight’ device that is actually hooked to the laptop backlight. I know this is probably not nvidia’s concern, but this was the only working solution that I’ve found. Could it be added back please?
sudo systemctl mask systemd-backlight@backlight:nvidia_0.service
Which would completely disable that systemd service…
That doesn’t remove the ‘/sys/class/backlight/nvidia_0’ device, it just stops systemd from saving/restoring the backlight level on shutdown/startup.
I just checked:
$ grep -i backlight /proc/driver/nvidia/params
Driver version: 460.73.01
Are you using the 465 branch?
Yes, I’m using the 465 branch.
