Rdma connect with conectX-3 and connectX-5

Hi, I tried to establish an RDMA connection between a ConnectX-3 adapter and a ConnectX-5 adapter.

Environment:

  • OS: Windows 10 Pro (both sides)

  • Adapter Models: ConnectX-3 (MCX354A-FCBT), ConnectX-5 (MCX555A-ECAT)

  • Driver Versions: WinOF 5.50.14740 on ConnectX-3, WinOF-2 25.7.26882 on ConnectX-5

The TCP ping test works fine.

However, when I run the nd_rping program from WinOF(x3) and WinOF-2(x5):

  • On the server side, the program gets stuck.

  • On the client side, the program exits with the error message 0000102 ND_TIMEOUT.

How can I resolve this issue?

Hi ,

Unfortunately, RDMA connectivity is not supported when mixing ConnectX-3 and ConnectX-5 network adapters within the same environment.

For proper RDMA functionality, we recommend using adapters from the same generation with the same driver branch.
