Monitor setup via HDMI does not seem to work (it works for all non spark setups). The spark works after initial setup via network and I can ssh into the system. How can I - as monitor does not seem to work - get the spark ubuntu desktop on my mac?
Hi, as the DGX OS is based off of Ubuntu 24.04, you should be able to use any public tools that allow a remote desktop connection between MacOS and Ubuntu
thanks. Do I have to configure anything on the command line (Spark side) before being able to connect from remote?
You may need to start the xrdp service
sudo apt install xrdp
sudo systemctl enable xrdp
sudo systemctl start xrdp
Wow! I didn’t expected that. AI has been suggesting that from the beginning but I was like, “It always worked in other Ubuntu desktops” when I turned it on in the setting. And it’s NOT like I can’t connect to i. It’s just a keyboard, mouse, screen resolution not working.
But after trying RDP (Windows App) on Macbook, two WIndows client, FreeRDP on Mac and the other Ubuntu Desktop for days, I finally gave up and installed xrdp. It works!
Oh, I did have to turn off the Remote sharing and access in the DGX Setting.
I prefer it if the Setting can be fixed in next bug release.
Thank you @aniculescu
After activating rdp on dgx spark via system settings I tried most of the RDP apps I knew on mac as well without success. Finally tried Remote Desktop Manager from devolutions.net and it worked finally. I didn’t have to install xrdp.
