Tesla or Geforce?

I wonder which is better for my computing problem.

For example, Tesla C1060 Vs Geforce 280.

They both have 200+ processors, they both have double precision. Tesla has more global memory than G280. However, Tesla card is much more expensive than Geforce 280.

Could anybody explain why Tesla is more suitable for high performance computing than G280? Besides more memory?

They are tested much more thoroughly. How much more? I haven’t really seen any specifics.
