two nvidia graphics cards, run displays on older card, cuda on PASCAL card

I am running Ubuntu 16.04, I have a new GTX 1060 card and an old GeForce 9500. I simply want to run my displays on the old card and keep the 1060 for CUDA programs only. I cannot figure out how to do this. I have tried many xorg.conf configs and can’t seem to find the right one. nvidia-settings doesn’t even see the old card, but it is present in lspci | grep VGA. any help appreciated.

Sadly because of the old GeForce 9500 requiring legacy drivers, I do not believe this is possible sorry. The minimum card you can run with the current v378 drivers is one from the 400 series.
