Will Ubuntu 16.04 crash after the GPU crashes?

Immediately after my operating system crashed, my operating system is ubuntu16.04, the nvidia driver version is 390.87, and the NVCC version is V9.0.176.

Yes, it may.

A GPU falling off the bus is a fairly catastrophic event. This may be as a result of overheating.

Ordinary GPU “crashes” i.e. software problems with CUDA codes or drivers do not cause a GPU to fall off the bus.

Hello friends, I am using the suppermicro 4028 device, the auxiliary fan on the device is in full speed mode, the other 7 nvidia1080ti average temperature is generally not more than 60C, including this one. If this card falls off the BUS, will it cause the suppermicro device to crash?
