Windows Server 2008 poor performance

Hello, i’m doing some test with infiniband, actually i have 2 server Dell poweredge R710 configured as follow:

48GB ram

2 x intel xeon x5660

single HCA MHQH19B-XTR

Windows 2008 R2

to connected eachother i used the following cable CINCH - QSFP+ http://www.cinch.com/wp-content/uploads/cinch-qsfp-cable-rep-training-2010jan18-part-1.pdf http://www.cinch.com/wp-content/uploads/cinch-qsfp-cable-rep-training-2010jan18-part-1.pdf

I updated the HCA MHQH19B-XTR firmware to latest and installed the windows driver on both windows server (MLNX_VPI_WinOF-4_90_All_win2008R2_x64.exe)

executed opensm.exe and the server can ping eachother…

If im trying to transfer a file from servers i can get a transfer rate between 90 and 150 Mb/s, i tried everything but i cannot understand what’s wrong…

somebody can help me ?

Thanks

Hi,

I suggest you start by reading the Windows section under the performance tuning guide :

http://www.mellanox.com/related-docs/prod_software/Performance_Tuning_Guide_for_Mellanox_Network_Adapters.pdf http://www.mellanox.com/related-docs/prod_software/Performance_Tuning_Guide_for_Mellanox_Network_Adapters.pdf

Regarding the numbers you’re seeing, how are you measuring these tests ? is it through verbs or upper level like ntttcp ? please note that in order to achieve the most out of your system you have to make sure that your adapter and interface are bound to the correct NUMA node and there are no windows qos settings in the way.
