@Iridescence
This issue is no longer relevant – it was my first time installing a driver from a .run file, and it turned out to be user error on my part :)"
But…
I’ve identified issues in several games that do not occur on versions 590.44.01 or 580.142:
Indiana Jones: Game crashes and HDR issues (not present in 590.44.01 and 580.142).
Age of Empires II Definitive Edition: Black screen in the main menu (not present in 590.44.01 and 580.142).
The Witcher 3: Constant freezing (not present in 580.142).
Additionally, screen recording in KDE Plasma (Spectacle) is currently broken.
Like @zebcom mentioned, the issue in Witcher 3 is caused by RT and/or DLSS performance mode. Turning of RT and switching DLSS to quality mode would make it playable again (Tbf I haven’t checked the performance mode, quality is what I normally use.).
FYI I encountered issues with host processing spikes to 30-40ms using Sunshine and Apollo on Linux (CachyOS) resolved by downgrading back to 580. Switching between nvenc and AV1 encoding and multiple combinations of Moonlight client settings did not resolve the issue. GPU: 5090
Interesting. For me Ghost of Tsushima freezes at the title screen with 595 - wasn’t the case with earlier drivers. Anyone else with a similar issue? I saw this in the logs, if it is of any help.

Can confirm that. Elden Ring without RT works again after using the vkd3d descriptor-heap-test. With RT enabled, there are flickering blocks (regardless of whether it’s low or maximum RT).
Yup, myself and a few others have the exact same issue (post). Elden Ring is also affected by the same error on loading into game, and AC Shadows too (only in some specific locations for this one). Are you on RTX 5000 series GPU too?
Only workaround found so far is to use descriptor-heap-test branch of vkd3d-proton, although this apparently doesn’t help everyone with Ghost of Tsushima.
Not sure if this is new but having issues with Space Marine 2. Unable to get past the loading screen after hitting ‘Continue’.
I downloaded the nightly CachyOS proton build and that makes the game work, but now experience severe framerate occasionally dropping down below 30s with a 5090.
This driver seems to have introduced a regression in the game “Captain of Industry”. It causes the terrain textures to be blocky and sort of looking stitched along the building grid (which itself isn’t visible). Logs are attached.
Screenshot (better to just see the issue, I assume it’s clear by just looking at it even without knowing
Attempting to play Crismon Desert results in a game freeze shortly after pressing ‘play’.
The system completely freezes shortly and the music keeps playing but at that point the game is frozen.
the 590 driver does seem to work however performance leaves a lot to be desired.
Have you tried Proton Hotfix and GE? I read performance varies. Note there is Denuvo and you are limited to 5 installs per 24 hours (and changing Proton counts as one).
