I am running KDE neon 6.3 (based on Ubuntu 24.04) and I’ve installed the 575 series drivers using the datacenter repos (along with cudnn and cuda-toolkit). I am getting the following errors when I am running apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade:

The checksums don’t match the ones in the Packages file on the repo.

Example
Expected:
nvidia-settings_575.57.08-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb: SHA256: 1de7d0021362957bd77a0484374f9138330f166403fc965517ee2304102429d6
Actual:

Apart from commenting out the cuda-related repos in the list files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/, I could not find a solution.

If you try this, it should be an ok work around that worked for me on a RunPod cloud GPU (assuming you don’t need to update the drivers):

find your list file: grep -R “developer.download.nvidia.com” /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*.list

sed -i ‘s|.developer.download.nvidia.com.|#&|’ /etc/apt/sources.list.d/cuda-ubuntu2204-x86_64.list
apt-get update

proceeed as normal

It comments out the CUDA/Cu DNN repo temporarily if you’re not installing anything from it atm.

Looks like nvidia updated the repo and things work again. Im going to mark this as solved unless it acts up again.
